Radiology Training

The Global Center conducts several global and regional radiology training workshops, web-based webinars and onsite teleradiology user and technical training for participants from IOM and non-IOM panel sites around the world. The training topics include Teleradiology systems and users training, Radiographic techniques, and Screening chest x-ray interpretations. The training is conducted for panel physicians, radiologists, radiologic technologists, and medical IT staff. In person training was suspended due to the COVID-19 pandemic but resumed in 2022. As of November 2022, a total of 186  participants participated in the web-based training, and total of 17 participants joined in-person training and practical sessions.  

As of August 2022, 16 global, regional and country level radiology workshops were organized by the Global Center, with more than 493 participants. The trainings aimed to build the capacity of field staff in CXR performance and interpretation, and the use of teleradiology systems.
